So I managed to get over and pick the new bike up today and I've spent the last hour sticking the tank protectors on, figuring out where to thread the chain through the swingarm for the ground anchor and wiping down and sealing the paintwork. I have to say, now that it's home and I've managed to give it a proper look over, the build and quality of the components are lovely, I'm really impressed. I wasn't originally convinced by the Speed when I compared it to the Street, but you can see where the extra cash has gone. It feels more substantial and grounded, where the Street felt really light and bit flighty. Both are enjoyable to ride but the Speed feels a bit more Blade like with the grunt from the 1050 triple. I bit of carbon bling on the stock Arrows.
It's a nice well rounded bike, well put together and some very nice components. The front end feel and a bit of grunt was missing for me. It sort of added up to "good" not "great". Horses for courses though and a decent test ride of mixed riding for an hour or so is worth it. I thought I'd adapt more, but I possibly defaulted back riding more aggressively and missing the sportbike feel from the front. I think that's probably why I'm enjoying the Superduke more.
Thanks mate, I’ll give it a test ride. I messaged the local Ktm dealer 45 miles away but still waiting for a reply that was about 9 days ago
That's not good. Both the local KTM dealerships I dealt with were decent. There's nothing really i could fault with the Triumph. The Duke just feels right. More of everything.
