I got my hands on this little antichrist after a lot of hunting and searching. It's a Yamaha 1989 TZR250 (3ma) reverse cylinder. A little 2 stroker. Its very clean and only has 9k kms on it but due to being left lying up for the last few years the nuts and bolts and some of the brackets on it have being attacked by the rust monster. I have now stripped it down to the bear engine frame and one wheel left sitting there and will bring it back as best I can. So let me know what ya think. And again sorry it's not a Honda.
Thats awesome.. Iv been looking for a decent 80's 2stroke but tidy ones are fetching good money now. Hopfully ill find 1 thats been stored for a while and pick up a bargain
Brings back memories mate, don't need the smell, I can remember it like I was riding to college now...
I do , Im only 28 but i have a collection of 11 bikes from a 1955 BSA A10 Golden flash up to 2011 blade.( check out my photo album ) I love the mag as all of my bikes have jobs that need doing and i get some good tips from it I got a few 50's classics , a lot of early 80's honda monkey bikes, trikes off and on road.. at the moment im looking for a good 2 stroke super sport, looking for an rgv or nsr 250 at the moment but good ones are fetching good money. hopefully a bargain will pop up in the mag
Well just a little update on this one. She has been striped and ive painted the sub frame, all the rear light brackets cleaned the pipes, polished the rear ends, painted the inside of the discs, callipers, fairing brackets, cable brackets, cleaned the swingarm and have her running nicely now. Iv ordered a new set of carb shut off valves and new air filter then a new set of tyres as she is still wearing the Ome 22 year old ones. The tank has been sent off to be repainted as there was a little bit of paint pealing from the seam at the bottom and the right side fairing as some one had rubbed the transfer on it so that will be sorted as well. Ive got a mad need to ride this bike so I have been working non stop on it for the last week or two at every min I get. So hope to get the paint parts back soon and when it's all together it well get it's registration done and get a few spins in before the crapy weather gets back as I don't want this baby getting out in the wet. Will post up some pictures when I get the laptop repaired. But for now I'm stuck on the iPhone.
