I'm going to guess that he's going by the colour. It gets darker as it gets older but it could look different in the picture than in the flesh. Once it gets darker than lager I change mine ;)

it does look a bit dark, but its not even a year old, might just be the reservoir making it look darker

I am glad of a meme about E10 petrol I saw, it reminded me to check the oil, glad I did!

Just far too used to driving a car that tells you the oil level, brake fluid, oil condition, whether the fridge is on and god knows what else and then it sends you an alert on your phone if it thinks you arent paying it enough attention

The tail fairing has picked up the odd mark since I started taking a pillion - they’ve polished out but as a preventative measure I’ve swapped it for an aftermarket carbon fibre one. Thinking that it’ll be easier to just get this relacquered if something untoward happens. I can always swap it back come sale time and then look to sell the carbon one on. Just waiting for the HONDA sticker to go across the top. Not sure which will look best - white as was original, silver to match the ones on the belly pan or red to match with the Fireblade sticker. They were only a couple of quid each so ordered one of each and I’ll decide after offering each up.

IMHO it doesn’t look odd against the fake carbon hugger (that comes standard on the Black Edition) being in such close proximity.

Spent an evening at the Dyno.
The CB500 ran just over 49 Bhp, but the RR6 ran 155 Bhp.

So decided in the end, to go chrome effect for the HONDA badge on the carbon tail piece.
Whilst I was getting that, I’ve thought for a while that the front of the Black Edition could do with lifting with something, so decided to get a pair of HRC made up at the same time.
Very pleased with the results - got them off a guy called Simon on eBay (user name lifeofriley69). Very helpful, scaled to the size I wanted and received next day.

Fitted an Ape manual cct lifter today. I've been plagued by vibrations in the right footpeg and handlebar and having changed exhausts to no avail this was an attempt to fix them. Having tweaked the tension with the engine running I've settled on a position that by feel seems about right. There is a significant improvement and I'm pretty happy notwithstanding the obvious anxiety that comes with replacing the OEM part and setting it up blind.

Fitted an underslung brembo caliper. Luckily I’ve got spare brake lines and fittings to make it work.
