Anyone got a moto lug te trailer they use for track days they could share their experiences of? I like the idea of being able to convert it from a single to a double bike making it really versatile and I really like the ability to pack it away.

    Cheers,

I’ve had the TE for a few years. It is a great piece of kit. Stores easily in a Keter outside unit. Easy to assemble, load and disassemble. Tows superbly. Our first trip was to the Dolomites in Italy. Even at 80mph on the autobahns the trailer was rock solid.

I also use it for trackdays. Only slight downside is that you can’t tow it unladen.

    Perfect, thank you.

I've currently got a Dave Cooper trailer and it's not very easy to load or unload as there's no chock on it, disassembling it is a pain in the arse imo so it just gets stored as it is.

I've stopped towing at speed as I had a relatively new tyre explode on a different trailer on the motorway :D

Wow! I check tyre temperature at every stop on car and trailer for signs of incipient failure

Yeah, me too, it was perfect. Wanted to get home for my tea and was making progress, there was a slight wobble and I looked in the mirror and the sky was full of smoke and rubber. Fortunately it was a double axle trailer on the back of an old 5 series and even with my track car on board it was rock solid.

These single axle trailers worry me a bit but all you can do is check the tyres as you say. I don't think they're rated for much in the way of speed.

To be fair, at 500kg loaded, they’re not under much stress. But yeah, 60mph is normally it for me.
