Right you lot good to be a part of the community and I need to start with a real quandary.

Purchased a 2017 Blade SP that on face value looked ok. Upon removing the bodywork it’s evident that it’s been rolled over and possibly used on track.

The bike starts, runs and rides perfectly with no errors stored or current. That is until it hits a ‘hard limiter’ at 9k rpm. So far I’ve swapped the ECU, TPS, checked the loom extensively. Checked all the basics. 9/10 times the bike revs cleanly to 9k then hits what sounds like a pit lane limiter (there isn’t one fitted) and the ECU has also been reset. Then one time you’ll turn it on and boom it revs a few times. Wheel speed sensors have also been replaced.

    Absolutely stumped!

    Any ideas?

Hard limiter, explain what it does?
Possibly crap fuel, kinked fuel line, incorrect cam timing , secondary injectors not connected, low fuel pressure.
Easier to just stick it on a rolling road.

My definition would be an electronic limiter - like a pit lane limiter, it's not mechanical. Things like fuel etc have all been checked.
I did think (and heard) that the secondary fuel injectors kicked in at 9k, it can't be a coincidence - but what would stop them from engaging?

For the RR5 the secondary injector’s operate when the throttle is opened wide at engine speeds over 5500 rpm.
Could you explain the last part of your first post again please
    “Start up and boom” bit
    Cheers

If it is being electronically restricted I would expect it to "bounce" if you keep twisting the throttle, like it does when you hit the rev limiter.

Found this old thread on another forum.

It's worth a try. I'm not sure what 'cleaning' was done on the injectors. I would check the wiring, and clean out the injectors with a cleaner. See if that works. If not, get them tested.

If the ECU feels that an injector is 'not fully functioning', it makes sense to not allow it to rev up and self-detonate.
