Hi folks, looking for some help Just bought a 2002 954rr genuine 11,500miles and under 3k rpm it's sputtering, really hard to ride but after 3k rpm it's smooth as. Injectors were changed(old ones were clean) fuel tank emptied and new fuel, new plugs, air filter etc, all OEM parts. is there anything that's a common problem with them for this ? Thanks.
I'd say your air fuel ratio is out for it to run ok at higher revs. Sounds like it could be too much fuel. Do you get any pops and bangs at low revs?
No pops or bangs down low. There's an akro slip on on it, would that cause this, if the air/fuel was never sorted to suit or are these bikes usually ok with just a slip on ?
It's possible, but for just a slip on rather than a whole exhaust system then it sounds a bit drastic for a fault. Did these bikes have exhaust servos? Could be worth looking in to something related to that from when the can was changed.
