Had a ride out to the Fiddler yesterday with me mates on thier SVs.
They really have ruined that road with the average speed cameras.
I mean, 50MPH on the straight bits in the middle of nowhere FFS!

    Cheers J!
Have you posted any photos of yours with the Rexpeed brackets on?
Blade sits happily at 50, it just seems sooooooooo slow.
Those of you who know the road up the the cat will know how open and deserted it is, so 50 is just a joke.
It has clearly been done to stop bike going up there.
It was reported last year that they had not been turned on, so i don't know if they are on, but you cant take the chance.

Crow scarers are good at keeping crops safe.
Sadly one or two get misplaced or go off in an unsuspecting manner ;)

Used to go up there all the time but since the blanket 50 came in everywhere it's just not worth the grief. Not a great fan of c&f itself, plus the pubs a dive, but some of the surrounding roads are top notch. Shame.

Phantom - permanent and rear facing, so they pick up bike number plates.

Was it a bad road before? i.e Lots of accidents or people killed in accidents? I guess if it was then fair enough but if not what's the crack!?

I was up there with my lad at weekend :)

I think you just have to ignore the straight bits & enjoy the bends. Its always sooooooo cold on the Cat.

Back in the day  we would time ourselves over the Cat; it was utter carnage!

I think its listed as one of the most dangerous UK roads; the suicidal sheep towards the Buxton end don't help.

In 1998 I binned my brand new RRW on the stretch that forks of to Congleton; happy days.........

Used to do the Cat about 6 years ago and sometimes in winter (which was rubbish) The pub was always closed but if you knocked on the door the old git would open up .I never really liked it as some of the bends are that tight you end up going around at 20 mph . The local boys could really ride these roads fast as they were up there day and night and thats perhaps this is were the main carnage came from. What i can't understand is why the locals/Farmers have not potted the cameras yet but for me they can keep it .50mph and full of cops whats the point let the council pay for the running of them and hopfully they will lose money.
