Hi, I've just stumbled across this forum whilst searching for other stuff related to my bike. My bike is a CBR1000RR-04 in black with white race plates and wheels. I got it cheap knowing that it needs a little TLC but is mechanically sound, I've had it about 3 weeks and have spent quiet a bit on it and covered over 300 miles (1/3 of what the previous owner did in a year). I'm originally from Oldham, Gtr Manchester but now live in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
Congratulations on your find and welcome to the site. Moved from the greater Manchester area eh? Another one trying to put as much distance as possible between himself and Givover. Anyone want to tell him the bad news? Cheers Ken
Its a bit like Australia here .We weed them out and pack all defects down south so they can mince about to there hearts content. Oh and a warm Northern welcome to you hope you enjoy!!
In reply to the requests for Photos: The Old Gixxer 600 K4 It took me a while to get it looking like that. And now the CBR1000RR-04 that i've only had for a few weeks, I've started to improve it but it's going to take a little time as she's a bit 'ropey' at the moment and you can't really see it in the pics. The day I bought it. After fitting new wing mirror, front indicators and tail tidy. Stripped down for inspection of faults/improvement areas and fitting of R&G crash protectors. Awaiting delivery are new handle bar grips and new tyres are getting fitted at the weekend (Bridgeston BT016's (maybe the Pro's) and a full service next month.
Welcome in mate! Great pics and looks like youv'e got a great bargain there. Let me know how you get on with the crash protectors, been looking at these for mine!
I bought a 'wood reming' tool from B&Q and a hand drill. Followed the instructions in the pack (paint on end of current bolt and offer fairing to it) and managed to get an almost perfectly in line hole on both sides, just a minor bit of filing to tidy up and ensure correct fitting and any minor mistakes are hidden behind the Bobbins I'll put some pics up later.
I've not lived in Gtr Manchester for a few years now and to be honest, both Oldham (where I'm from) and Salford (new BBC place) are s*@t holes.
Yep. Proper shit holes. Welcome in mate. Some nice pics and that blade looks pretty good. Better than my cnut anyway.
