First attempt at motor sport photography with the new camera. Hopefully, it will improve :)

Can't ask for much more and the first photo is a ''classic '' timing or what?

Was he doing a roly poly or was he looking for Mecca?

You found yourself a good spot Milky. Good photoshop skills too. You've actually made Knockhill look dry.

    Nice one mate.

great pics! looks like you were down near hairpin, i was sitting not far along, seen a scary off in the 600s there guy was winning and trying to overtake a back marker. watched the later racing from duffus. pretty bad crash in the superbikes. good racing all round by a lot of very dedicated guys (and some women). it might ahve been dry but if was f*****g cold:(. do you use an expensive camera?

Wife bought me it off QVC for about £150. It's a point and press really not difficult to use, just need to read the manual to get the right mode. You're right, it was feckin baltic, the ride back home on the bike with the wife and I was torture :(

verty good pics though! i got a fuji s4000 last year, think i was lucky with some bike shots. got some decent shots at the hairpin at last years bsb. hope to get some good shots at donnington. i left yesterday around 3, fancied a decent run before heading home but the prospect of sitting in a warm house with a cuppa won the day. good to get out though.

Once you get your head around the best set up for what you want to shoot you'll be well away. Don't forget there are afew bloody good photographers on here and they'll fall over themselves to give you their advice and opinions.

I got a mate a paddock pass at BSB at Thruxton a few years ago. He's a sport phot by trade but specialises in rugby and a bit of speedway and he got into the zone pretty quick.

    I hate him. LOL

Treat digital as if you're shooting transparency film Alex. Under expose by a third of a stop to throw a bit more saturation into the image and move with the subject to offset the shutter lag and throw some blur into the background. Try pre focussing on a spot and wait for the bike to ride into it rather that hunt for it and risk losing the shot while the AF catches up mate. And, as you say, bang away like an American infantryman and hose them down. Throwing away the crap costs nothing but time.
