Sup peeps, So here is some footage from a very wet Odiham which you might be interested in - We had to wait all bloody day for the wind and rain to calm a bit - then it went into open pitlane as so many people had buggered off! Hope you enjoy: GSXR1000 170mph on wet Airfield - YouTube
Brilliant, looks like you had great fun, Think I may have to join you on the next one any idea when it is ?
I'm in looks like a great day out and its close enough for me to pop up and back could you keep me posted or is there a website to look at ?
I'm a fan of your vids, i am subscribed to you on Youtoob (Johntheguru), but jeez, when you're not used to those speeds and comment on the over banding, road tyres, variation inability, the weather, the fact that it's pretty scary, the last thing you need to be doing is speaking and trying to entertain for the making of a video, and looking at your speedo! Things happen so fast at those speeds that you need 100% focus! Watched it ok, knowing you're fine after it, but if i never knew the outcome of the video i'd not be so keen to watch, as all that is a recipe for disaster!! Glad you had a good time, there really is nowt like it, just bloody be careful will you Best vid for me is still your first vid lol, watched it countless times! Bongo
nice vid Chris and as i said in the other thread you were going really well, shame the instructor on the Blade wouldnt play as it would have been interesting watching a drag race between the blade and the gixer on the straight 170 in the wet.........love it
Hey Dude - thanks for the words of wisdom. TBH, most of the day was pretty slow (boring bits didnt make the edit!) and i know you're supposed to tape up your speedo etc. as its a distraction - however, on this day, there was very little hard breaking, any overtakes were carefully considered and all in all, it was very actually very calm with only one slight moment on a later stint - at which point i went home! On 'proper' trackdays its a totally different story and weather i'll vlog Silverstone on Monday is un-decided. However, i will say this - that ANY camera on a bike affects your attitude to riding, i think speaking is just secondary to the thoughts that are in ones head anyway - thinking aloud if you like. At no point was there any scripted commentary added for entertainment - just exactly whats is in my head, but its coming out my mouth! It may have even helped me calm it down a bit! As for the sub - thanks amigo!
Yeah - dunno what tyres they were on - think that had A LOT to do with it. (pretty sure the blade would smoke the gixer down that runway!)
