Hi, I have had my RR8 since new in 2009 but never looked at a forum until last night. I was featured in Ride magazine with my Blade June 2012 issue (page 76). I have done 8000 miles on it and it's a great bike. Was surfing internet last night (Sat night away from pub as I was going on long cycle ride today) and found this forum. Looks very helpful, so thought I would sign up. Particularly interested in Willingham Woods meet up next Sunday. Market Rasen is my favorite destination from Derby. Over the years I have pieced together a brilliant route there, full of quiet twisty roads, particularly once in Lincolnshire. Sadly means another Saturday night not getting legless at my local, but it might be worth it. Just read further good news today for my Lincolnshire days out - Humber bridge is now free for bikes (I often nip up there from Market Rasen as I love going over the bridge - it is magnificent). Ed
Hi and welcome to the forum It really is a great place to be and the guys are always up for a laugh and help wherever possible. Stick some pics up of the beast so we can all have a gander at it.
You'll need to open a photobucket account. Doesn't cost anything. Once that's done "upload" your photos. Then view your album and hover over the pic u want to add and click on the image code "4th on the list" then copy it into your post on here.
Thanks Colin, Here are some pictures from 2010 (I haven't got any more recent ones - I guess I ought to remedy that soon). First one at home, 2nd at Humber Bridge, 3rd in France (same pic as in thids month's Ride mag)
Great. Thanks Carl - yes it would be good to meet another CBR1000RR rider - I have spoken to about 3 ever! Hope it's dry, else I probably won't go, but we must be due some nice weather soon, surely, and a ride to that area is so tempting (only been once this year, in the "March Heatwave").
Hi and welcome. That’s nearly a full on black blade and therefore must be faster than the "reps". Enjoy the forum mate more piss take than fact but most have a heart of gold.
WElcome toth forum Ed, lovely bike and looks like your a petrol head with the Beemer also. Hop you enjoy the place
Welcome to the site mate. I just booked tickets for snetterton BSB For Sunday otherwise I'd have a ride up to willingham woods. It was one of my regular meets a few years back. Hope to catch up with you some other time. Thanks Gary
I have noticed that when some people post a message on here, it says at the bottom of the posting something about their bike and what they have done to modify it. Can someone tell me how I could do the same, and also how I could add a picture to come up on the left rather than the RR default picture? I have looked around the site, but to no avail. Thanks, Ed
Thanks Gary. I come from near Blackpool too (Preesall). Loads of bikes meet up at the next village (Knott End) every Sunday and Wednesday. Goodness knows why, roads are crap (pot holes, traffic, myopic drivers), police have no sense of humour, and the speed limit is now 20mph for the last 2 miles. When I go back to visit family I usually go by car. Reminds me of Matlock Bath nearish to where I live now - I can't see the point. I hope that you've found some good routes round there to get the most fun out of your 'blade.
