You might be wrong about the ohlins as it is a TTX rear shock, honda wouldn't put an ohlins forks on that work worse than the Showa BPF
Rear subframe is lighter and the footpegs have been moved for better riding position

Have a look at Halfords as they have started doing HID bulbs or check ebay
Am sure I read somewhere that HID bulbs degrade over time so might be what's happened, am sure my lights used to be brighter when I first bought...
