Alpinestars Goretex - sports boots but waterproof and warm. And I'm using Halversson's winter gloves ATM and they've done a good job so far.

AFAIK the eliminator lets the PC control the full fuelling range, its not there just to cancel the warning light.

I've done loads of miles on LC4 640s. They are an absolute hoot, as long as you don't mind engine vibes, low top speed and high seat height....
Or you could just remember what gear you put it in ;) P.S. I do like your idea better than an aftermarket gear indicator though.
