'12+ dash gear indicator

    Anyone else fitted a 12-16 dash on an 08-11 and got the gear indicator working? Rigged my 6th wire up to high beam so it doesn't blink. Don't suppose anyone has a 12+ bike opened up at the mo and could see where the smaller grey plug connects to?

    Did the 08/11 have a gear indicator built into the original dash?

    No but I know it can be done as I've seen people do it just not on here

    From what I remember, the neutral switch on the 2008 has been changed to a switch used for gear indication on the 2012. The grey plug would go to this switch.

    Sweet yes that's what I found too. But the grey plug is too far away so I take it there's a wire between too?

    It plugs into the engine loom of the 2012 model if I recall

    This is the updated engine plug

    Oh I see. So it doesn't look like it'll be plug and play?

    Did you do the mod as well? I'd be prepared to spend a few quid to get it to work. It's just annoying when it blinks. Last resort I'd just blank it off but tape on the dash looks shit!

    Think @si1000repsol is running a HM dash so wouldn't have that problem

    Yes I run the HM Dash on an 09 blade so never been an issue. I did look into a few years back before I went for the HM Dash.

    Agree a much better dash functionality wise! Shame they don't go full colour now

    I am sure they will in time as most new bikes offer some of the functions so will have to compete

    I have considered the HM dash but I just don't like the look of the screen.
