So the bike had a good clean today. I tried a new product called S Doc 100 Power Gel that I bought from Hein Gericke. Wow, its expensive at £16.95. It did come with a free chain aerosol cleaner though.

Damn this stuff is good. My bike was absolutely caked in grime & road sludge but this stuff was amazing. I sprayed it all over the lower part of the bike, left it for 15 minutes then attacked the worst areas with a sponge. It froths up good and proper and smells a bit like washing up liquid!

As soon as it was hosed down I could see how much crap it had removed. My bike literally looked new again (apart from some slightly corroded bolts).

This stuff is highly recommended and I will certainly buy it again over Muc Off which I used to swear by.

i have tried muc off on blade and mtb, to be honest not that impressed. tried castrol chain cleaner on blade it does work but covers everywhere with splash back when you spray and scrub.
will try some of this next - on your recommendation:)

My Dad swears by this and won't use anything else. It is quite expensive, but I too have seen what this stuff can do! It really does do the job very well.

I have been using SDOC 100 for a few years now as I prefer to spend most of my time riding the bike rather than cleaning it, this stuff allows to me to do that while still keeping the bike looking good.

Great stuff worth paying the extra

Shit yeah it is expensive stuff.

I was wondering the other day whilst in Tesco if Cillit Bang was any good!!! 2 for a fiver!!

Seriously thought the manufacturers of sdoc must be on 100000% markup.

i use fenwicks concentrated bike wash, allow to soak in for 5 mins then just was with soapy water and gentle hose pipe

dry off and spray scotoil fs365 all over the bike

use wd-40 to clean chain and lube with wurth. its really good at not getting flung off the chain

    Great thread

I've been tempted by this stuff for a while now so this is making my mind up for me. I've never been hugely impressed by Muc Off and I'm suspicious of a product I've seen in Poundland that looks veeeerrrrry familiar, if you know what I mean.

Interested in what Flatstick has to say about Wurth chain lube. I've not had the 'Blade long enough yet to worry about chain maintenance but I had a bit of a panic last night when I got home and opened the garage door to see black shiney blobs on the floor under it. Turns out it was only chain lube that had dripped onto the shift linkage, so pucker time for a moment but obviously the time has come to clean and re-lube.

Wurth chain lube END of its mint been using it for years its clear and harley flicks off at all brilliant gear!

As for cleaning i spray the bike in autoglym shampoo and leave while i have a smoke and drink me stella then hose off then wash with soapy water!
Then blow off with air line then its into garage straight on stand beer and smoke then chain lube..next step is wurth 2030 on all metal black etc then beer and smoke! then autoglym resin polish beer smoke then autoglym high def polish!

Then it get left for a few days until i detail it check all levels tyre pressures etc then battery charger on till next ride haha ;)
