If you have occasion to travel into or through London, you'll probably be aware of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) which means that bikes of a certain vintage are hit with a charge of £12.50 per day.

As a rule of thumb, bikes from 2008 onwards are automatically exempt.

However, older bikes might be able to get an exemption - it depends on the NOx emissions level, which must not exceed 0.15g/km.

To establish this, you either need to get the bike tested at the (one and only) official test centre or get a Certificate of Conformity or equivalent from the manufacturer and submit it to TFL.

I just thought I would post that my 2005 bike got an exemption based on a letter from Honda (which states that the NOx level is 0.102 g/km).

    Take than, Mr Khan!

I managed to get my RR5 exempt without testing by obtaining the relevant letter from Honda uk and send it to TFL. I cant remember exactly how but there is a relevant post on here somewhere. Do a search and see if u can find it. if u cant post after the holidays and I see if I can help.

I've done exactly the same thing on my RR6. There's another thread on here somewhere where I talk about it.

    All motorcycles should be exempt.
