Just wandering if anyone has a db killer for a Yoshi R77 carbon lying around they want to get rid of? Those of you that have the R77 slip on (or full system for that matter)... do you generally ride about with the db killer in or out??? Cant decide if my R77 is TOO LOUD!!!
I ride with mine in now but thats more because the fuelling seemed to be way out without the baffle. Agreed they are bloody loud without the baffle
I ride with mine out... because the hole for the bolt has not been drilled out properlly on mine lol.
I ride with mine out. But I do have the perfect excuse, when I was knocked of my bike this year by a car U-turning in the road the driver said "I didn't see or HEAR you!" thats good enough for me :yes4:
Thanks bud! I was just wandering if anyone who never puts theirs in wanted to sell theirs on rather than buy new.
I have mine inn at the mo due to TD next week and its made a big difference with the noise. But once I have done the TD it will come out. But I will be keeping it for other TD's
Well I do have a spare... But they are bloody hard to get hold of! I only use them on trackdays with limits over 102 db which is what the r77 measures with no baffle.
I might take you up on that mate. I won an absaloute bargain on Ebay last week. A 1000 mile old Yoshi R77 with heat shield for 200 notes. It did not come with a DB Killer thou
I was very lucky to find it. It was labeled " Honda Yoshi R77 + Heat Shield " starting bid was 200 and i was the only bid.. Happy days. At first i didnt think the seller would honour it but he has emailed me the tracking number so fingers crossed it arrives today
Oh they are not that hard to get hold of... you can order them from any Hein Gerrick branch, they come straight from PhoenixNW.
So can I just check something on these R77's? I'm seeing carbon slip ons from the states coming up at just over £430 ex p&p and they seem to mention that the heat shielding belly pan extension comes with that (extra on the Leo I'm looking at) BUT none mention a db killer. So with the slip on I take it a db killer can be fitted? Or is it that some slip ons have a more permanent db already installed which makes them too quiet from the start?
Dont forget you should be paying import duty and usually fairly hefty delivery cost on top of the price quoted for the US ones. Most of the time, the R77 includes the removable baffle (db killer) but you would need to check. There is no permanent DB killer, just the optional/removable one. A lot of people dont bother fitting the DB killer. I havent got one at present, but would like to try one. Its not too loud when actually riding the bike. You would need a DB killer if you wanted to take your bike on most tracks.
2nd hand off ebay m8. They are popular as they are the best exhaust for the balde! JHS do them for £699 last time I looked.
Cheers I've gone and ordered one today so that's the decision made. I honestly was going to go with the Leo vince gp pro but my bikes got the black swingarm and I reckon the black can will ultimately look better with it So yoshi won in the end....
