Damn bikes. Why is it so hard to decide what to ride?

Get that SP2 away Nigel. You know me and you can’t ride in the summer because of the flies.

Nup. With the older bikes, my belief is that they're possibly worth more with the original rego, and definitely more authentic. If you enlarge the pic, you'll see that it's from Cosmopolitan Motors in London - long defunct.

The VF has its original Northern Ireland reg and I even have the original NI logbook and Honda Owner's Card:

The Cylinder Capacity reads 998! ...or is that 998ml? o_O

Duh!! My fault for making 2 references to different bikes in the one post. Most understood of course, but you're excused:rolleyes:. The cylinder capacity refers to the VF which you've obviously missed while paying only scant attention to my posts.

I sympathise completely because I also suffer from conjunctivitis, brought on by abundant Mr Sheen and WD 40 fumes!! :D:D

Sorry Paul, not sure if you're referring to the C90 or the VF.

Neither have been 'highly documented'. The are members on this forum and non-,members who regularly read, who are happy to have just one bike or even crave for one. I am conscious of not wanting to sound like a big-head or braggart over my small 'collection' to such a degree that I even refer to my SP2 as just a 2018 Blade. I am not a rich person, but have chosen to 'invest' some of my life savings to encich my 'pre-twilight years' (hear the violins in the background?:D). During marriage and family commitments (and the occasional divorce payout:() I was not able to pursue my motorcycle fetish. For now, my purchasing spree is over - although many will attest to having said, or heard, that many times over!

The C90 I found on eBay at a reasonable price. Hired a van and picked it up from Dewsbury on 1st of May. Is a winter restoration project for me.

The VF1000R I found on the MV Agusta forum (of all places). Did the deal just a week later on 6 May. Was deceased estate and had been in a garage for 20 years. One of those bikes I just had to have. Many of us would have ogled them in their day, but we could just not afford them then.
It's well preserved, no rust etc and only 9620 miles - verified by MoTs. The person handling the sale had done new oil/filters/brake pads (front only)/battery and both tires. I am only second owner! The bike is a bit of a dinosaur in that it weighs 220 kilo which is taxing when wheeling it through my front door. Rides really nice though. It's roomy and stretched out as opposed to our Blades. Oomphs of useable power, but without the Blade's brutish harshness. Has excellent pose value too - captures heads at the dealer and local coffee shop!

Great looking bike. If I ever wanted to do a project it would be one of them. Thanks

Cheers! Often a few scruffy ones on eBay. No idea what the parts situation will be like. There is a VF Forum, but there are about as many members as there are bikes - and that's not many. If I had been flooded with choice, I would have jumped at the 86 version which was in the 'Rothmans' livery. Very clean lines:
