Are the tops of the Forks supposed to be dead level with the yoke upper surface in standard Road factory trim?

I'm getting to think the bike is over stable sometimes unless the rear is brand new. I'm even using a 55, and the turn in speed is beginning to bug me.. Its a tad over stable...

The forks should be sticking out around the 3mm mark as standard.

You could loosen off the top and bottom yokes and make sure they are hitting the stop clips on the forks.

Have you had the suspension set up for you?

There is some room to change it, but the forks are fatter where there pass through the yokes which limits how much. I felt as you & found raising the forks through the yokes by 5mm was a change for the better.

For stock setup they should look something like this, where the end of fork tube is flush but the actual cap is about 3 mils higher than the yoke.

Rear suspension can play as much a part on turn in as the front forks do, when you say over stable I'm guessing you mean it doesn't want to tip into a bend?

If your forks are set like what Colin and shiny have said then I would as I said earlier get your suspension looked at! Just altering the rear preload made mine turn quicker and even more so when the rest was set properly

I'll tell ya one thing for nowt!

Don't attempt to loosen both Fork Clamp upper & lower pinch bolts without using a centre yolk paddock stand otherwise it'll all end in tears!
