    Back again!

    Took the bike to Jerez and had a major gearbox failure.:mad:

    Happened on the morning on the second day - after hitting a couple of false neutrals, and then the bike hit a major CLANK when changing down for turn 1; oil sprayed out of the lower breather(?), and 3rd gear is no more. Luckily, I stayed on as I was unaware of the oil on the tyre (and everywhere else) until I turned in for the fast left (Turn 4) which was only a slide, rather than a major off.

    Apart from the gearbox failure, the handling wasn't great. Tyres did need changing, which was definitely a factor, but the forks were hitting the stops on breaking and the bike was running wide. It certainly didn't give me confidence, and lap times were worse than my previous tentative session on a BMW without knowing the track properly (2:02). So for all the Ohlins etc. it has on it, it is definitely an example of all show, no go.

    So - plenty of work to do when I get the bike back;
    1. Fix the gearbox and check engine over for other possible damage
    2. Fit Evo Shift Star (and set QS accordingly)
    3. Service forks and shock
    4. Fit a new set V02s
    5. Fit new 520 chain and sprockets (I already have them)
    6. Do sag and drop yokes down 5mm (I prefer quicker steering)
    Shame, as I wanted to do less work on bikes and more riding.
