I have been offered a Honda CB1100 X11, I have severe tendonitis and a smashed left knee, I have really come to love my RRX, but this offer seems like a good deal.

From the reports I have read tho, its not as good a proposition as it may seem.

Apearently, they are very hard to sell, very unpopular and handle badly round bends.

Anyone own one, and what do you think of a straight swap for my Honda Fireblade 900RRX and this. whats the pros and cons.

Have never riden a X11 but have done 60k on my RRX, I found fitting helibars and lowering the pegs tranformed the bike for me into allday comfort.....just a thought. If you look at the pic there is a small link on the top footpeg mounting bracket, this just rotates the bracket down and is very easy to do. Oh yes, the seat is also slimed down too.

This is the thing I really have come to warm to the blade, now I have sorted out the gremlins from the previous owner, but the X11 really looks like a sweet ride to me and probably suites me better I dunno.

Its private, basicly the deal is we meet up sign over the bikes and ride off, no money involved, I'm just trying to get a feel for the bike and peoples oppinions on it without going to the owners club site, as a lot of owners can be biased. I like the look of the bike personally, but am I going to benefit from getting rid of my blade which is sorted now, hes already said the tyre could do with changing  which is going to be expensive, if I am correct the Black bird is one of those bikes that eat tyres for breakfast, so may economically this might not be a good idea.

The X11 used to be my weapon of choice when escorting demo day rideouts, very easy to ride fast. Ok so it's not the sweetest handling thing but it's not bad either & a shock & fork job should make a big difference. It is what it is, a big heavy bus with a powerful motor, very reliable & comfortable unless you sit at high speeds when your neck will suffer from the lack of fairing. They were never popular when new so 2nd hand prices will reflect that but if you're looking for a comfortable quick bike that will do mega miles then you could do a lot worse. Would suggest you take it out for an hour or so to see if it's the one for you.

Thanks, the problem is I wont get that option, its a deal where we turn up have a little go and then off we both go, I am taking a mechanic with me to check to bike over as I will have new bike syndrome, basicly to be my voice of reason, as I have got ' done ' in the past, the guy seems pretty genuine, but I dont know him.

One thing that worries me on this bike as well is the seat height, I am 5' 3'' and the RRX is absoloutely the limit, I hate having to get off and push the bike around, I have read that the seat heigh on the RRX is 810mm and the seat height on the X11 is 795mm which is great but I am also thinking that the seat is going to be wider on the X11 which actually causes me more problems than heigh.
