Just a public service warning that a new average speed camera has just popped up on the section where the speed limit drops to 60 on the M4 towards London.

Peeps who might have hibernated during winter be warned!!

Damn they're setting up cameras on the same section but outbound from London.
Looks like the HA is spending the last of this years budget!

My commute just got 5 mins longer!

Strange how RAC founation study in 2015 found, and i quote:
    "
Exceeding the speed limit was reported as a factor in 5 per cent of all accidents"

only 5% down to exceeding the speed limit, so strange why we spend millions of pounds on speed cameras?

the biggest cause, and I think we all know this, is "Lack of Observation", sorry mate i didnt see you...shame they cant make a camera for that!

Not that I condone speeding you understand, best saved for the track... ;)

    Rant time

Gets my back up all these safety organisations that cannot see past speed, speed kills, speed this and speed that.

Speed in its self does not normally kill, otherwise we would all die when flying to the Costas for our 2 weeks fun and sun, only inappropriate use of it kills.

Its about time these zealots got their heads around the fact that the reason there is so much poor driving on our roads has very little to do with speed but more the fact that the detection devices called Traffic Police have largely disappeared from our roads.

Rant over, Friday night pub time countdown on

The Highways guys are being really flush, the Chiswick flyover is completely covered in average speed cameras in both directions. Some are easy to spot on the yellow posts but also sneaky ones hidden up in the gantries.

Lots gonna get NIPs in the post.
