Sorry but i pinched this from Motoforum id have never thought of this but helpful if like me my wiring skills aint the best ha ha ....

I was going to get a battery one but if ACU follow FIM rules it states you must be able to turn switch on and off seated on the bike you probably could but faffing about i dont want ...

I ordered this switch got 2 just incase

Universal Motorcycle Kill ON-OFF Switch Button Handlebar Mount Bullet Connector | eBay

This rear light i was going to get from the NEC but thought sod it

Borealis Safetylight SL2 Racing Safety Brake Light

Really good idea wiring straight to your original brake light and onto the brake light switch wires i would of never thought of that ha ha .

Tips for a simple installation of a rain light if you are using a stock harness

Your rainlight will come with 2 wires, connect as follows to original bike rear light wiring at rear of the bike:
    Suzuki + White/Black – Black/White
    Honda + Green/Yellow -Green
    Kawasaki + Blue/Red –Black Yellow
    Yamaha + Yellow – Black

Get a simple switch (EBay £14 for a handle bar mounted one/ £3 for a toggle switch)
Connect the 2 wires from the switch to the wires going to the front brake
    switch.

A simple installation, no extra wiring, it’s fused, safe & scrutineer proof

If your bike has diffent coloured wires pm me & I'll let you know which ones to use

They have to be a certain size mate I don't know whether it will even matter at scrut but if you look at size of them it's not that big pics make them look bigger than they are that's next to a 50 p ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416418064.594000.jpg

Not according to the ACU regs as long as it can be seen.

For 2015 Red Rear Warning Lights will be a requirement for solo road race machines. Classic and Vintage machines racing exclusively in their own races or events are exempt.

The requirements for these lights are as follows,

All motorcycles must have a functioning red light mounted at the rear of the machine to be used in rain or low visibility conditions as instructed by Race Control. The team must ensure that the light is switched on whenever a rain tyre is fitted on the motorcycle and/or when any practice or race is declared “wet” by Race Control.

Lights must comply with the following:

    a) lighting direction must be parallel to the machine centre line (motorcycle running direction), and clearly visible from the rear at least 15 degrees to both left and right sides of the machine centre line.

    b) mounted on the seat/rear bodywork approximately on the machine centre line, in a position approved by the Chief Technical Officer. In case of dispute over the mounting position or visibility, the decision of the Chief Technical Officer will be final.

    c) power output/luminosity equivalent to approximately: 10 – 15W (incandescent) 0.6 – 1.8 W (LED).

    d) the switch must be accessible.

    e) rain light power supply may be separated from the motorcycle main wiring and battery.

would like to see these mounted to your tail unit please if you have a 2008 / 2010 blade as the seat unit isnt flat underneath apart from where the original light would go
