Hi Solid red light on the 929 dash. Bike running fine. Google says is may be overheated? Am at silverstone so left it on tick over quite a long time to warm up, then queued in pits then thrashed hell out of her. It's the first ride since the clutch imploded/exploded so don't know if that damaged anything. Turn engine off and start bike again and it goes away for a bit.
Just a solid light? Any change to the light when parked with the ignition on and side stand down? Not the oil light? No flashing lights or FI warning message? No funny noises when when the fuel pump primes?
Right, scrub that. Just come back in from session 2 and it's 3 slow 5 fast blinks. Only came on after about 15 mins canning it. Drinking shite load of fuel.
3 slow is 30 and 5 fast is 5 meaning 35 meaning: Code 35 is a faulty EGCV and air intake valve servo motor (bike will run). That's sound likely?
It does yes. Google found a guy who rode his like that for 2 years showing code 35. He eventually replaced the servo motor just to get rid of the light.
Please excuse my ignorance but what's one of them? Is it the thingy in the middle of the exhaust as that's disconnected.
35 sounds right for that from what I remember from my rr7, just need a servo buddy to fool the system. No idea if there is one available for a 929 though.
I can't be 100% sure which servo it is, but it certainly sounds like the exhaust servo. When I bought my track bike complete with Scorpion can the previous owner simply cabled tied the exhaust servo under the seat. It is plugged in to the loom, but not physically connected to the exhaust. Stops the engine management from complaining though, so I've left it alone with no problems.
Well she's going well enough. Think I'll just ignore it for today. Got my elbow down today for first time!
When I have ignition on but engine not running I can hear something whirring top left of the engine just under the air box....
Jeez. I'm damn well struggling to keep my mouth shut with this one!! I just burned my matrimonial stories diary.
Yep. The same sort that pull the brakes on a bicycle. They connect to a flap in the standard exhaust to open & close a valve to quieten it down.
Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Would the cable help it reset or is the motor bit knackered? I'm guessing as it's disconnected it's useless anyway.
Connecting it to the exhaust won't make any difference. Just needs to be plugged in to the loom and tucked safely out the way.
