Speed camera detectors

    Anyone use one for biking ?

    Dont run one on my bike but used to in the car. Most fixed cameras will be covered by GPS based units but IMO you will not be able to react (safely) to the warnings given by mobile units as nomally they will be well hidden (or blatenly obvious)




    Also they wont detect the copper trailing you for the last 5 miles.....

    It's a GPS not a radar detector. So it has updated all the fixed cameras and the average speed (which radar don't detect as they just take photos) I think they use a database of "known" mobile spots and warn you when you are entering one (not necessarily one there) not sure if they use the police published lists of scameras like you get in the local papers etc.

    Seems useful for when you are riding in an unfamiliar area...

    I have an inforad that I had fitted to an old bike. End of the day it all comes down to the quality of the database they use. Personally I prefer audio alerts and spending more time looking at the road.
