Hello everyone Recently I swapped engine from 2011 to 2016 one and decided to swap valve cover from 2011 engine and put it on 2016 engine, installed a new gasket too and applied gasket sealant on half moon spots and all the way around cover too, bike sat for about 2 days and I fired it up, after about 1-2 min of idling I heard a pop sound coming from cover and it started to leak a little from the top of half moon spot opposite the cam shaft sprockets side (left side), I have checked pair valve and it’s working fine, crankcase breather hose was not blocked too, I unscrewed the oil filler cap and blew air through hose, blew right away. I’ve done some research and possibly it’s the stator thats burning some oil making pressure in crankcase and eventually blowing out valve cover gasket. I used stator from old 2011 engine as 2016 engine was ABS model and connectors didn’t fit to 2011 bike. Could it actually be stator that has gone bad and is burning some oil or there could be some other issue.. I will most likely order a new stator and will give it another try. Also can I order same 2011 engine stator and do I have to change flywheel too or everything is the same plug n play? Thank you in advance for assistance.
