Nice pic si, I can't take pics to save my life! What is it that makes the thing/ person so clear and as if its been photoshopped onto a background? Is it a special kind of lense
This is probably my favourite image of recent years. It was a snapped shot, grabbed about half a second before my (then) four year old niece ran straight into me, knocking me flat on my arse. She's still clumsy seven years later. Fuji 810 compact in program mode, irritatingly, with the fill in flash mode disabled so not quite as much light in the face as I'd like but years of tweaking here and there in PS has got me an image I'm, sort of, happy with. Not a technical tour de force but it's my idea of the essence of photography, freezing 1/350 of a second of history. Plus, on the original, you can see the kite string all the way up. Fuji make some bloody good lenses.
If you control the aperture of the lens Martin, making the iris wider or more narrow, not only does it control the level of light falling on the chip but also the depth of field, the amount of the image from foreground to background that is in focus. By making the iris aperture wider less of this space is in focus, so you can choose what you want and what you don't want to be sharp.
this is Gareth Keys at the ulster grand prix this year. not an amazing pic but the look in his eyes.......doing about 150mph at the time
Ahh...Is it to late to retract my above post. My wife's just got an iPhone and one of the first things she said to me was that she would be able to take loads of "lovely" pictures with it. I looked at the cupboard containing thousands of pounds worth of camera equipment in it, including the £400 camera I bought her so she could take loads of "lovely" pictures two years ago and came to an epiphany as to why Apple is so popular. But I'm keeping it to myself.
hiya barney. is the dog a boxer? if so, i have one too, and they take one of the best photos ever. love mine to death. he is 9 this year, and i can confirm that you will see and hear a grown man cry when he finnally passes away
Barney's looks more like a Dog de Bordeaux rather than a boxer. I only know, because my sister has one and it's freakin' HUGE!
