I can hear the whining noise you are on about , but will leave it to one of the experts on here to comment .

Listening to it again it sounds like a bad bearing or some sort or clutch problem ,is it just from cold or does it do it when the bike is hot .

It sounds fine to me, a new bike always make sounds that you need to settle with.

I cant hear anything out of place there. sounds just fine

but if you want to get rid of that noise just buy a straight through exhaust system, that might do the trick

Balance shaft adjustment................................Same type of noise as the Blackbird have if the shaft is a tad too tight. A m8 complained his was whinnnnnnnnnning like a goodun the other year,we took it to my Honda trained guy,he adjusted it and the noise completly went.Theres a section in the workshop manual which covers the adjustment.I adjusted mine last season (not that it whinned but the engine had a rattle), it only takes a few mins once you can get to the adjuster (n/s lower front area)

Mine makes the same noise, but less so when it's warmed up (RR-A '60 plate with 5.5k on the clock).

Giving it beans in 2nd gear, it whines like a supercharger, but not in any of the other gears

    Hope that's useful?

Resurrecting an old post and after searching, there's a few misc comments, but is the recall notice on this thread a UK recall or just USA?

My 2008 does make same said whirring noise. I'm interested in seeing if Honda have an actual recall in the UK for it.

Sounds fine to me, you have to take into account the way gears are cut on high performance engines this makes for a lot of whining/ whirring noises. Could try a little movement on the balancer shaft just to see if the noise changes.;)

My CBR has just over 150 miles so far from new and it sounds about the same as on the video link.

I just oiled the chain. Sounds less whiny. But still whiny.

    Past caring. Still works.
