Having fitted an O2 eliminator, my O2 sensor is redundant. Being anal about such things, I don't like the idea of having the sensor/wire attached to my bike doing nothing. I've googled around and cannot see a "blanking plug" or similar to allow the O2 sensor to be removed from the exhaust. Does such a thing exist? Is there a DIY solution? Anyone done this?
Cheers gents, I will take a look at PDQ. On a related note I've finished fitting the PCV and the bike still works... miracle! Can't wait to test ride it tomorrow.
Hah... had been searching for "o2 sensor plug" and found naff all... but now searched for "lambda sensor plug" and unearthed a veritable cornucopia of options...cheers fella.
You can order a N0160255 sealing plug from any vw dealer or tps site for about £2.50 this is a M12 x 1.50 pitch plug it will go in fine that's what I have put in mine the 02 sensor pitch is 1.25 but it will work!!
From a little googling, the bolt for an RR7 is an M18x1.5...... so I've ordered this: Universal M18x1.5 pitch blanking plug / bolt / bung / for Lambda sensor port | eBay Arrived today, will hopefully fit on the weekend, and let you know if its the right size/pitch.
Hi there use some permanent lock or a tab of weld when it gets warm mine kept coming loose and popping out in the end I brought some US headers no cat or bung hole around £50 delivered
That's good info, cheers. I've spotted a lot of RR6/7 headers on EBay, thought they looked different... thats why then! Surprised US models don't have o2/CAT considering how serious they are about emissions!?!?
As wedgie mine loosened and popped out. I took mine off to do it right, welded and removed cat at same time.
