So kids I picked up the new beast on Saturday. Yamaha's MT-10 in tech black.

Weather was horrendous and the ride home was far from pleasing. My kit is still drying out. Unfortunately am stuck in the running in phase so having to cope with 5900k revs is difficult at times but I guess its gotta be done. Hoping to get the first 600 miles out the way fairly quickly and then I can go all the way up to 8k :-0

Those of you with a keen eye will know I've already started the modding process. Evotech tail tidy and oil & rad guards fitted. I have go their folding levers on back order so they'll go on when the arrive. I got my quad lock delivered this morning so that will go on and I can then use my phone as a sat nav device.

Took just a few pics :-0

I have never fitted crash bungs to any of my bikes, never really liked the idea of drilling OEM fairings to fit hideous plastic bungs that stick out a mile. But thats just me.

I will be fitting GB racing engine protection though :-0

    Did someone say Yamaha :).

Congrats on your new bike, Your gonna love the crossplane engine sound effects,
Don't be too alarmed with the high temp gauge readings, The CP4 engines run really hot,

Interesting front end on these, kind of reminds me of a transformers character, like the head of bumblebee...

Yeah it's a bit of a marmite looking bike. You either love it or hate it. I must say it is growing on me. Only 36 miles on the clock, wish the rain would do one up here so I can get to the magic 600 and then up the rev range to 8k

It looks really nice in black. It needed the rad and oil cooler guards in black as well, otherwise the original silver stands out and spoils the all black effect.

Great all round bike with a good bit of character !

    Thanks @derchef

I do have a workshop manual. Will come in handy for when I replace the DC outlet to a dual USB one

How come yours has Ohlins front suspension ?

Did it start life as the SP, and paint the swinging arm as well ?

    Just curious.

Looking at his sig it could well be the 17 SP.

What you guys getting fuel wise. I have just done 92.6 miles and the lights started to flash. I am still running the bike in so sticking to 5900 revs. Is the bike really that hungry on thee ole petrol??

Suffer:). My 2011 light came on at 154.7 yesterday! As a few have posted, anything sub-100 is really unacceptable.

Just back from a trip to Catalunya GP and recorded the total fuel stats below - a better 45 mpg for the nearly 2,000 mile trip.

Tomtom sat nav (or similar) that shows petrol stations is very useful !

45.3mpg works out at 10 miles per litre for you then Mattie. Were you getting the fuel light after 140miles (14litres)? Sorry I'm very skeptical about trip computers. Need to go and try one myself I know, but if that consumption is right then it puts the MT10 back on my map. What was your riding like over the 2000miles?
