Before I get my RR6 forks back it would be a good idea to know how much to torque up the clip ons by. Does anyone have a manual showing the values for the the front end? Also, I let the left bar drop down and the clutch reservoir is hanging upside own, so I'll need to bleed the system with what ever fluid is left. What clutch fluid should I use, or is topping up with a universal clutch/brake fluid good enough?
top pinch bolts 23nm, bottom ones 26nm I would bleed it just in case, think I used a DOT4 clutch fluid
Clutch fluid same as brake fluid. I replaced all mine over the winter, think it was Motul RBF 600. Total overkill for the road/me really but I don't skimp on brake related. stuff
Clip-ons ( Handlebar clamps to fork legs) - I had this recently on my 1000RR - the manuals states 26Nm as as I started, it felt too tight. I did a search and on the Renthal US site it stated 9 Nm for the clip-on clamp to fork bolts and 3Nm for the actual handle bar clamp.
A good quality DOT 4 will do the trick worth changing it regularly too i do mine every 4 thousand when i service as it gets very discoloured by then was told by a Honda dealer it is normal and due to the size of the reservoir
