Hi there please can you help I have a cbr1000rr 04 . I went over a speed hump a bit fast every thing seemed ok I got of the bike went into a shop but when I got back on the bike it turned over but wouldn't fire up . Can you help please.. . I left the bike over night tried starting it and it started 1st time but it ticks over for about 10seconds then stops dead. Then it wont start unless I leave it for a bit then does the same again. The revs go up a bit then drops stopping dead instantly. Thank you every one for your help seems to be running ok now

Hi Mark, this is not a wind up, bug have you checked the position of the kill switch? It's just I fell foul of this recently, my last bike (Suzuki GSXR) would not do anything if the kill switch had been pressed, however l noticed on the blade, it actually allows the engine to turn over but not fire!
    You never know..

Lol, I had this tonight, must have accidentally knocked it somehow when I put it away yesterday, I was sitting on the drive wondering WTF was going on, until I wondered if the switch had been flicked, and it had :D

It seemed to be normal speed and no it wouldn't bump . It's exactly the same as if the kill switch is switched but its not

Does the blade not have some sort of tilt switch that shuts the fuel off mounted in the nose cone? Maybe it came loose with hitting the speed bump and then moved further when you parked at shops?

Jase had a similar problem with his track bike. It turned out to be the lean angle sensor. Maybe the speed humps has put it out of kilter. This sensor kills the engine if the bike falls over.

I'm afraid not. Hopefully either jase or a mate of his will see this and ask him.

It's right in the nose cone, butted up against the headlight. You may be able to see it with the screen off, but I'm pretty sure it's a nose off job to remove.
