If you've the standard ecu it will be fine disconnected. Probably run a bit better actually, as it's a self learning system & if the bikes running a bit rough you can disconnect/re -connect battery , run up to fans kicking & that reverts it back to original factory setting.

If the ECU loses its learnt settings (like a long period without battery), the best way to get a trouble free re-start is to turn on the engine without touching the throttle and letting it get to working temperature. I was told this by a master technician and has worked for me

My battery comes out for 4/5 months with no issues so you shouldn't have any problems at all.

I found that one, plugs into the maf sensor. This one's shorter and comes off the tank no leaks or anything just didn't seem go anywhere. Still got tank cover off as I'm waiting on k&n filter being delivered so will have to have a inspection before i finish it off

Fitted my QS recently too - that tube isn’t connected to anything. Must be a short breather. Enjoy the new toy!

factory ecu reset to put it back to fuel learn mode. is disconnect battery leave 2 mins, reconnect start engine do not touch throttle then wait until the fan kicks in. done. It is worth doing this if you fit an end can and don't want to go to the expense of a map or pc
