Hi all anyone changed their stock brake lines for Hel braided lines. other available ;-)

I here lots of stories about bleeding the brakes. can't be done at home can be done at home

The big question is can I change them with just standard brake bleeding kit, i'm confident with changing the lines and bleeding brakes. just not sure if anything special about ABS

Though I would give myself something to do while stuck at home.

    Stay safe

I bought hel lines for mine and they lived up to their name, some bits I re machined to improve the fit. I fitted mine trying to keep the system full and not letting the ABS run dry, It took a bit of time and fluid.they do look better, mine has been on for about 2 years with no problems

yes I wanted to do mine but was told the the abs pump needs bleeding at a dealer with some computer programme as it takes hours which isn't cheap either , I like the goodridge hoses .

Mine has not been to a dealer, and no ABS issues, I also strip brakes each year as they start to bind I just remove caliper then fit a 10mm bolt through brake line with seals to stop fluid leaking out make sure plenty in reservoir, then to refit attach to caliper off the bike so fluid does not leak onto pads ( quickly) then bleed as normal, May not be right but has been good for me

When I changed my ABS lines to braided, I didn't do a full bleed either, just a normal bleed plus bleeding at the unions between the braided and hard lines. One thing to note that the ignition was not switched on until the conventional lines were air free.
