That explains a lot my friend.

Most people use an Indy, primarily because they have a good rep, secondly hopefully to save some wonga over dealer prices.

Clearly your Indy has decided to use the Honda list price and pn to price the plugs. When no doubt with a trade prices has picked them up around £12 a pop. No matter what is stamped on them, Honda don’t make plugs, NGK & Denso do that for them.
Fully accept anyone offering a service has to cover costs and make a living, but pulling yer pants down and tickling yer tonsils is really taking the piss IMO.

I mean, it's the cheapest valve clearance service I've had to date hahaha, and if anything I'd expect it would be more on account of fairings

I've had 2 valve clearances done on the MT10. The first one at main dealer was not far off £900 and that was with a winter 10% discount!). I did have some other work done but they said it was at least 6 hours of labour for it. I was charged 8hrs labour so discount that off at (82.50 an hour) and it's still over £700.

The second valve clearance I had done on the MT10 was at FWR in London who are a really good bunch. That was £660

Wow, as dern and others, lucky and pleased can do this myself. Yeah takes longer than a qualified mech, nervous I'll break something (and sometimes do - but usually fix it!) but save £thousands! Valve check and adjust (on 9 valves) cost me about £100 but that was because I went OTT on new gaskets, seals and sealing washers.

Just looked back and I paid £50 (due to 20% discount) for 4 x NGK iridium plugs from m&p. Free fitting as I did it!

As dern, happy to lend a hand to anyone that wants to learn and get stuck in too.

Helped a guy out once fitting an aftermarket fairing as he lowsided on a roundabout trying to get his knee down. Was a full gibernau race rep fairing, Chinese and took a bit of fettling. Took quite a few hours over a couple of days as he didn't really get involved or help out! but bike looked great afterwards. First time he took it out he smashed it up trying to knee down on a roundabout again - twat!! Needless to say when he asked me to fit another fairing I said sorry busy!

Hear where your coming from, and also understand not everyone wants to wield a spanner or feels confident to do so, hence why pros exist, it’s just hard to comprehend these prices for this sort of work when you do your own fettling I guess.

Just had mine done today on my rr4 at my local main dealer (the full 16k service so everything done) and as suggested above got them to do a video which they were happy to do and it was emailed to me by their autovhc system and very pleased with the outcome. Bearing in mind what I paid for the bike I was expecting some horror stories but got told by the mechanic the complete opposite that it was all in great shape and had clearly been setup properly with the PC5 and slip-on and the k&n filter was all good and cleaned out. None of the clearances needed doing and everything was spot on. So a lot of money to spend at £600 but at least I know the bike is in tip top condition and that takes a heavy weight off my mind when riding it :)
