Fitted an R&G tail tidy which obviously took at least twice as long as I thought mainly trying to hide the wiring while not having it end up melting to the exhaust. That heat shield is a bit of an eye sore though now but I'm on the look out for an Akrapovic replacement exhaust anyway which will get rid of that.
I got the seat cowl from Ali express, came within a fortnight, £25 incl tax/duty. Had to file a tiny metal tag off the bar that hooks into the lock and all well. Wouldn't know it from the original to look at and well worth the wait as opposed to the £300+ I saw for an OEM one.
Fitted a Soupys adjustable lowering link to replace the original dog bone. Only lowered by about half an inch but it means I can get more of the meat of both feet down when pushing the bike rather than being on my toes. Need to take it for a ride this weekend just to make sure it feels good and I might lower the front forks to match.
On todays episode of "I don't need it but I want it" Just the Exhaust and tail pipe. Sounds lovely. https://streamable.com/4cn0d7
How does the Yoshimura sound? Im on the lookout for a can for my 06 Blade, I think the Akrapovic might jus tbe a bit too steep costwise. Been looking at Delkevic, Dominator and Yoshi's
Fitted some new brake pads, replaced a few worn looking fairing bolts, had a bit of a rattle from the Heat Shield so I’ve dampened that and gave it a good clean.
First impressions is it's louder but not obnoxiously loud. Just more bass sounding especially on idle. I have a video I'll upload, just need to edit out the warming up and numberplate. Uploaded : https://streamable.com/4cn0d7
@BeelzebubUK & @Selmer50mark , When you've fitted your exhausts did you put any other heat shielding under the rear fairing? Ive seen that some exhausts come with them but the one i was looking at doesnt state anywhere if it came with some or not (Looking at the carbon Delkevic stubby pipe)
Thanks for the prompt response. Sorry for all the questions but did you have to remove/re-wire the servo? I watched a video of a geezer changing one on YouTube and he had to remove and re-wire the Exhaust servo.
The Yoshimura came with a sheet of sticky backed heat shield material so the original heat shield gets removed. You have to cut 2x main pieces from the sheet and the leftovers are used to cover smaller gaps. Took me an hour or more to make sure I was cutting it right and then sticking it to the underside of the tail
I removed both of the servo cables. You have to unhook them from the original exhaust before removal and then you can just get to the servo end and unhook them from there. I saw it from 02:30 in this video :
Thanks for your reply gents, much appreciated. Looking at getting this: https://delkevic.co.uk/Honda/CBR100...bon-silencer-exhaust-kit-KIT01CH.html?search= I had these cans on my VTR1000 and they sounded pretty nice, there's just a bit more work that needs to be done to fit this onto the CBR.
I basically did what the video showed up to the point of heat shield removal, didn't like his heat shield fitting process
Decided to replace the rear indicators with some mini LED ones to tidy up the back and installed a new LED friendly indicator relay. They are eye watering bright These ones : https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CS2FKXMG
