Try Rev it fairly high (with the bike stood still in neutral) and then release the throttle. Mine had a bad rattle when doing that. I didn't...

Maidstone Honda had quickshifters 08U70-MFK-D40 on Ebay for £250 but they look to have gone now.
Just a warning that these don't fit the SP (even with a pillion seat in place of the cowl). The fitting kit attaches to the footpegs, PDF here...
