From experience, thoroughly check your stancion for pits or other blemishes. Could be the stancion has developed a blemish which has trashed the seal.

Nope... it's a single allen-headed grub screw. A little fiddly to avoid dropping the grub screw when re-fitting the baffle, but 10 seconds work!
