Had this on an old Fazer a few years ago. Got so pissed off with it, I filled it with expanding foam through the drain hole at the bottom
I have the exact same thing on my RA9. Just done 15k. Only notice it under load (not just revving with the clutch pulled in).

What mods do u think may have helped the brakes?
Done another 50 miles today. The brake feel is still the same (crap) but no ABS light coming on...
Thanks Mike, I repeated the situation a few more times on the way home on purpose. They pads have about 2-3mm of material left.
