Most important thing is the diameter. You can always trim the length baffle to fit. Even if you just had the ring that would still reduce the noise
If you can avoid watching the tester then do so. Sometimes the ministry send a secret shopper and if the tester thinks you are from the ministry...

i make sure the bikes are safe before i give them a pass, whats the harm in having a loud pipe?
there isn't any testing equipment for noise during an MOT, its down to the tester to decide (thats why i never fail loud pipes)
Those failures are to be expected, the rules for those items haven't changed for years. The indicators can't affect the operation of another...
