Martin, The dodo juice stuff is pretty good but not very long lasting! You can get small "panel pots" that you can get to try out without buying...
Battery drain issue was addressed with ecu update to 2011 bikes think it was Rev 38600MFLD04 (fitted to late 2011 onwards models) on ecu part...
I would still be looking at the starter electronics side of things, the starter solenoid would by my first area to look at as it may be jamming...
The simple answer is nothing, the refuelling process has nothing to do with the starter/power system. It has power/earth feeds for the fuel pump...
CK, most newer vehicles don't have any serviceable parts in the fuel pump (we live in throw away times!), they do still have a tea bag screen type...
