i ran the cable over the airbox but under the matting on it. had enough cable but when i opened it at first i thought it was too much.

fitted mine today too in exactly same place. looks like there was loads of extra cable but once fitted i had only an inch or 2 at most slack....
yes they only do the repsol paint scheme every other year! glad yamaha have reduced the price couldn,t believe what they were costing!
