No, FTTC. Think you're right - a quick google suggests that Virgin's uploads are max 2Mbps with some areas being 5Mbps.
Also worth trying a closer server to you. My ping times are ~8ms. Like how it reckons Teesside is "about 50 miles" away from London! :confused:
