Defo! Same as mate, sometimes depending on software etc depends on how much of an advantage mapping the ECU offers, if the tuning points are not...
I have done hundreds of these, never had to drop the motor? Not saying there is not a first time, I always remove the rad etc and the cover...

For s start the ECU is made by Keihin not Mitsubishi.. Id like to know more, maybe call him and ask for some written info re spec etc?
Many bikes can have the standard ECU remapped, to what level depends on the manufacture and software used to remap it, most standard ECU remaps...
