well if the pad was missing,either they have put in the wrong pads or put the reataing pins/clip in wrong,BMW brembo pads need to have a thicker...
so a caliper seal then. from the limited info,it sounds to me like the dealer has somehow,unwittingly damaged the seal,seems much more plausible...
if it attracts a magnet it's very poor quality ss.
