Its easy to remove the cats mate, cut the back off (out of sight) remove cat and replace section, the key is 1mm cutting disc's :)
Cant say what it would sound like with gutted cat chambers but link pipes would be better or if you would gain much but if your bike is higher...
I have added a 50.00 set of headers mate, take them to your local fab man and get him to cut the cats out or replace with link pipes, I rekon...
