You can't go wrong with a decent 2007. I have a 2005 & a 2006. The brakes on the 2005 are ok with decent pads, but I upgraded to a Brembo master...

Do it on a block of wood. I often leave mine on a sheet of plywood, although that's usually so the bike sits a bit more upright in the garage....
Best make sure you've got room then, although I'd spin it on the side stand just for that :D
I found it ok moving the bike backwards, but it's just better to keep a foot on the stand if pushing the bike forward to prevent the stand from...
