Hi guys. I'm buying a 05 Blade that has been used all its life as a trackbike. I know it's last 2 owners going back 6 years so am happy that I know it's history, rather than a random bike off Fleabay that I'd be buying hoping all is good. It was built around a frame from a salvage yard which drilled out the last 2 digits so it's no use to race. It's a brilliant spec machine and won't need anything doing to it for racing except that damned frame. I've found a reasonably priced frame in Ireland (thanks to a member here) with frame numbers intact. I have stripped Superdukes to the bare frame before however I know that bike well. Never owned an IL4 before so a few questions. Will I need any special tools? Do you recommend changing all the bearings in the frame? Any other things I should do while it's all apart? Anyone know of a good How To on this type of thing? Any other info you think I should look at/know before committing to this purchase/job? Really looking forward to racing it. I managed to win NL Endurance Open 1000s last year with my team m8 on a ZX10R but was getting destroyed down the straights at the bigger circuits. Also my SDR really isn't designed to be ragged on the track all the time and it's my pride and joy so don't want to ruin it. I'm instructing for NL this year and some of the other instructors who have raced say a Blade is almost the perfect sportsbike to move to as what it might lack in top end grunt it more than makes up for in handling and smooth power delivery. Any and all advice gladly received
