Today we had a special visit from Sir Richard Noble and the car to conquer all comers, as we are making the wheels and various other parts for the car that they attempting to take the landspeed record to 1000 miles per hour. It is known as the 'Bloodhound Project' and is an attempt to put British Engineering firmly in the place it deserves to be. Here are a few pics of the beast. You can also check it out online, just type in Bloodhound Project. Sir Richard Noble And a scaled model of the car
The thing that really hit home about the shear power of this thing is that it uses a 800hp formula1 engine purely for a fuel pump
You lucky, lucky........... He's a great bloke to be around is Richard Noble, his enthusiasm is so infectious. Some toy that motor, eh , got a rocket and the turbofan out of a Typhoon. Nice one Colin.
No arm twisting needed mate. He said he'd take 2 That little scaled model is an exact replica of the car with minute detailing on it. I'd have 1 if it weren't £5k.
Same guy that took the last car to the speed record. Air fighter pilot Andy Green. Either lucky if fcukin brave.
Any guy who attempts the unknown trying to do something that's never been done before is a very brave person in my book! Hats off and respect. I once had an argument with a guy at work who said Donald campbell was stupid and not brave/ hero I put him right as to me he certainly was. Great Britain used to lead the world in things like this and thats great, go sir Richard.
Donald Campbell lived his life with the ghost of his father stood over him, inferring that he was never quite good enough. Not that I would wish to take away from his incredible achievements at all, but I do wonder sometimes whether Sir Malcolm was as responsible for what happened at Coniston as the turbulence on the surface of the lake was.
Yea think that's correct, all he saw from a young boy was his father pushing the limits and do think he felt (obliged) to carry it all on, deffo a hero for me. I love watching old footage of Malcolm and think he was a great man at a time when the world was a different place to what it is now. And Colin, thanks for putting your pictures up there awesome mate!
