Hi everyone, I've just got my mitts on a 2012 Blade, after a couple of years with a 600RR for trackdays. I'm based in Somerset, but don't know the area too well as yet. Any tips on roads? Bridgwater to Minehead seems entertaining. The bike is currently stock bar a lipo battery, but I have my eye on a shock and maybe an exhaust.
Mine is the red (with a little bit of white). Always liked the 08 on Blades, but this came up at the right money. Couple of minor scratches to sort, it will be my track day toy for a while. Looking forward to playing with it.
Should add, up until 2 years ago I wasn't really into Honda's...the current fleet is: CBR 600 RR, CBR 600 F, Busa, ZX9R and a couple of others that need to be sold really.
Welcome Fran. Glad you made the right choice on year and colour, you won’t be disappointed. Standard shock is pretty good as is. Pipe is horrendous. Why not get a racefit? Loud and proud (of course I’m biased)
Racefit look nice but for trackdays are a little loud. I am a bit lost with exhausts on the blade. Seems the 12-16 ones are different to 08-11? Does a can replace the cat, or do I need a link pipe, or a full system to do that? Anyone had a bellypan mounted can (as stock) but aftermarket, and struggled with the noise test at a TD?
